A brand new comic and zine event begins on 4th May!
When: Saturday, 4th May. 10 AM – 4.30PM
Where: The Star Public House, 21 Rectory Road, Cowley, Oxford.
Price: £5 with with an exclusive zine/programme showcasing the work of artists in attendance or £3 without.
Oxford is preparing to play host to a fantastic new comic show: The Occultz Oxford Comic, Cult and Zine Fair, created and curated by Owen Michael Johnson and Jason Atomic.
The Occultz Fair offers a unique mini-con experience in a unique space: The Star Pubic House on Rectory Road in Cowley, Oxford.
At the fair, you’ll be able to browse and buy unique books from independent artists selling self-published comics, zines, prints and merchandise.
But that’s not all you get when you head to Oxford for this event…
The day will close out with an exclusive screening of Sam Raimi’s Cult video-nasty classic, The Evil Dead at The Cinema Under The Stairs, Oxford’s premier cult cinema! You can buy tickets for the film screening here!
Iin the age of AI, Occultz is championing the human, hand-made, crafted, independent art. It’s something we’re going to need more of in the coming years! And one of the key things about the Occultz Fair is its comics focus, something that’s been missing from events and especially so-called comic conventions for a good few years now. This focus is down to the event’s organisers.
Owen and Jason have been active on the UK and International comic scene for years, with Owen working with Rebellion, where he spearheaded the recent six-volume Best of 2000 AD trade paperback releases, as well as being the writer and artist of Reel Love and the upcoming Mirage. Jason creates comics and events with a occult and punk edge and is the curator of the Satanic Flea Market at Camden, the creator and Editor of Satanic Mojo, the self-published zine that features some the best UK Underground artists working today, as well as curating drawing classes that inspired the next generation of comic artists!
